A warm welcome to Grange School

Dear Parents/ carers, pupils, staff, governors and stakeholders,

I am delighted as Headteacher to inform you that our examination results are the best in the history of Grange School. I am proud that in my first year as Headteacher, staff and pupils have worked hard to raise standards and achieve remarkable results of:

5 *A – C grades 27%
including English and Maths (FFTD – 22%)

5 *A – C grades 81%

5*A – G grades 89%

1 *A – C grade 94%

1 *A – G grade 98%

As a staff we know we can out -perform these results with our current Year 11 cohort
(2009-10) and we hope to see outstanding results yet again in the summer of 2010. We continue to work with the Local Authority and the Greater Manchester Challenge during this academic year and we thank them for their continued support.

This academic year we are due an Ofsted Inspection which could take place from September 2009 onwards. We await the phone call! In the meantime all staff (teachers and support staff) continue to prepare for this inspection through inset and through the timely procedures we have put in place.

Other accolades we are proud of include:

The Inclusion Award, Investors in People, Arts Mark, Healthy Schools Award, The Basic Skills Award, Member of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) Most Value Added Club 2005 – 2008, SSAT – Success in Adding Value 2009, An SSAT Mentor School and Advanced accreditation for the SSAT RATL (Raising Achievement Transforming Learning) Programme and the Best Visual Arts College in the country Key Stage 2 – Key Stage 4 value added in 2006.
