Renaissance Reading Home Connect
All Year 7 and 8 pupils have regular Renaissance Reading lessons. This is when they read a book, either in or out of school and then take a quiz on that book, using the computers in the school library. The quiz assesses whether they have read and understood the book, and gives instant results.
This link takes you to Renaissance Place where you and your child can monitor their progress in Renaissance Reading lessons. To log on pupils simply need to enter their Renaissance Reading username and password that they use in school.
You will then be shown their most recent quiz results and whether they are working towards their target.
In addition, on this page there is an email set up, which you can activate, this will then send you an email each time your child takes a quiz, giving you their results. So you can monitor your child’s progress from home.
There is also a link to your child’s bookshelf, and this shows all the books they have read at school. This provides a good basis for talking about their reading habits.
Finally, you can also use this site to search for books in the reading scheme. This again provides you with an opportunity to talk about their reading, and also is useful for finding books they enjoy by specific authors or on particular subjects.
